welcome...
to graphic design I, or graphic design 2, or Art 2D/3D, or Drawing I. Yes, I teach them all. When you see advertisements in magazines, graphics printed on clothing, music CDs, or DVD cases, you are looking at the work done by a graphic designer.
And the list doesn’t stop there….
The field of art and design is applied in fashion, interior spaces for both residential and commercial properties, architecture, culinary endeavours, packaging, and all aspects of advertising and marketing. Here at Treasure Coast High School our artists and graphic designers work hard in order to create realistic products that follow contemporary trends. However, the technology comes second to the design. The most important thing to have when considering graphic design at TCHS, is a disciplined and creative attitude. If you are enrolled in either Art 2D/3D or Drawing I, then I think you might find that these are both great opportunities for creative expression, as well as stepping stones into other great art programs. Lets look at the supplies and resources you will need to have:
Graphic Design I
Required: working email account
Suggested: USB Flash drive
Graphic Design II
Required: USB Flash drive, pencils and a sketchbook
Drawing I/Drawing 2
Required: Pencil with eraser
Suggested: Colored pencils, sketch book, oil pastels, kneaded eraser
Now! Lets talk about some rules… there is no:
TCHS dress code is strictly enforced in my classroom, so don’t think you will get away with being a slouch.
Electronic devices will be taken away if I see them, food/drinks will be thrown away if I see them, and any ill-use towards our computers and its devices will be swiftly and efficiently dealt with… there is absolutely no grey area when it comes to this.
If you show up with a good attitude, ready to show your fellow peers and I the same respect you would like to be shown, and work the entire time you are in my class with your best effort, then you can expect a really positive experience, along with a really good grade! I can’t wait to get started!
